Peru Bus Service

Peru bus network is professionally run and offers an affordable means to travel throughout Peru.

Traveling by bus throughout Peru can be quite a nice experience, exceeding many people’s initial expectations. Peru’s executive class bus service is a world away from, for example, the ‘Greyhound’ services in the USA and ‘National Express’ bus services in the United Kingdom.

Since the early 2000’s, Peru has invested a lot money in new roads, including most rural roads which connect all of Peru’s major towns and cities.

Although there are several classes of bus service in Peru, the most popular among visitors (and those interested in traveling comfortably) are first and executive class which transport customers in comfort and safety (Cruz del Sur, Ormeño, CIVA etc.), on high-specification, quiet, modern air-conditioned buses like Inka Express in southern Peru.

Peru has a high record in terms of traffic accidents and fatalities. According to a 2011 report by The Peruvian Times, this report also mentions that majority of these accidents, are caused by low-budget bus companies with poor security features and outdated fleets. When traveling it is best to select or opt for mid range to top end companies, although this does not guarantee a safe ride, but for sure increases the chances of a problem free rides.
